How to crossplay Terraria PC and PS4

Sorry to break it to you, but Terraria doesn't support crossplay between PC and PS4. The game versions differ across these platforms, which hampers the ability to join up and play together. Each platform is like its own little island, so you'll have to stick with fellow adventurers who are using the same hardware as you.
Actually tried this with a friend thinking we could outsmart the system. Spoiler: we couldn't. Terraria doesn't do crossplay between PC and PS4, so no dice. Ended up just buying it on PS4 too so we could team up. Totally worth it, but yeah, no cross-platform magic happening here.
