If you've lost your PS3 or it’s broken, head over to the [Sony Entertainment Network](https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/account/deactivate-primary-ps3/) and deactivate it online. Just remember, you can do this only once every six months.

Just go to the Sony website, log in, and deactivate your PS3 under 'Device Management.' Didn't even need to get off the couch.
