To deactivate your Facebook account, click the down arrow at the top right, go to 'Settings & Privacy', then 'Settings'. Look for 'Account Ownership and Control' under 'Your Facebook Information' and follow the prompts to deactivate. Easy peasy!

Deactivate by going to Settings -> Account Ownership and Control -> Deactivation and Deletion, then pick 'Deactivate Account'. Follow instructions, simple as that!
