Been there, done that! Trust me, just swipe left on your chat in Messenger and hit 'Delete'.
Just go into Messenger, click on the chat, then choose 'Delete' from the menu. Gone for good!
Pressing 'Delete Conversation' clears it from your view, but remember, it might still exist for the other person.
