First, log into Instagram via a web browser because you can't delete your account through the app. Then head to the 'Delete Your Account' page. Select a reason for deleting your account, re-enter your password, and hit the 'Permanently delete my account' button. Bam! Instagram profile gone!
Just did this last week. You can't do it from the app, so you'll have to use a browser. Log in, go to the 'Delete Your Account' page, choose why you're leaving, punch in your password, and click 'Permanently delete my account.' Simple as that!
