From personal experience, just head to the 'Users' section on the XMB, highlight the user, press triangle, and then hit 'Delete'. Simple as that.

Go to 'Users' on the XMB (cross media bar), select the user you want to delete, press triangle, and choose 'Delete'. Easy peasy!
