Easiest thing ever! Go to the Users menu, select the account, hit the triangle button, and pick delete. Just make sure you're cool with losing all the data tied to that account.

From personal experience, head to the Users menu, select the account, press triangle, and choose delete. Easy peasy! I’ve done it multiple times.

Deleting an account on the PS3 is pretty simple. Just go to the Users menu, choose the user you want to delete, press triangle, and select delete. Done and done!
