Click on their name in the leaderboard and look for an option to 'Remove'. If you don't see it, make sure your app is updated!

To delete friends on the Words with Friends leaderboard, tap on their name in the leaderboard, then select 'Remove Friend'. Easy-peasy!

I went through this last week! Just tap on their profile from the leaderboard and hit 'Remove Friend'. You're set!

Just gonna say it: It's not currently possible to remove friends directly from the leaderboard. You'll have to unfriend them elsewhere in the app.
