Go to your profile, hit the three lines in the top right, then Settings > Security > Clear Search History. Cleans up your suggestions in one go!
From personal experience, clearing the app cache can help too. Go into your device settings, find Instagram, and clear the cache. Done and dusted!
Honestly, just uninstall Instagram and reinstall it. Fresh start for your search suggestions. Drastic, but effective!
