How to Delete Profile Picture on Facebook
Go to your Photos, then Albums, then Profile Pictures. Find the one you want gone, click it, and choose 'Delete Photo.'

In the Facebook app, tap on your profile pic, go to 'Photos,' find your profile pictures album, open the pic, and hit 'Delete Photo.' I've done it more times than I care to admit.
Click on your profile picture, select 'View Profile Picture,' then click 'Options' and choose 'Delete This Photo.' Easy peasy!
Just switch it to 'Only Me' in the privacy settings if you're not ready to fully delete it. Sometimes discretion is golden.
