Guys, just deactivate it instead. It's in the same menu as delete, but you can come back if you change your mind.
I've deleted a profile before, and all you gotta do is go into Settings, find Your Facebook Information, then choose Deactivation and Deletion, and select Delete Account. Easy peasy!
