Honestly, just set all your games to only update on launch. Keeps them from interrupting your internet when you're doing something important.

I turned off auto updates by setting my games to update only when I launch them. This way, I control exactly when the updates happen, and it's been a game-changer for my data cap issues!

Can't see why you'd want to disable auto updates. They keep your games fresh and fix bugs. But hey, to each their own.

Disabling auto updates on Steam is pretty simple! Just go to your game library, right-click the game you want to stop auto-updating, and select 'Properties.' Hit the 'Updates' tab and then in the dropdown menu you can choose 'Only update this game when I launch it.' Bam, no more surprise updates when you least expect them.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
