How to disable chat function on Words with Friends

You can't actually disable the chat function, but you can mute players. Just tap on their profile, and select 'Mute Chat.' Voila, no more message interruptions!

Unfortunately, there's no way to completely disable chat in Words with Friends. But you can always ignore it or leave chats unanswered if they're bothering you!

Been playing for years, and I can tell you there's no off switch for chat. Just mute or ignore and keep those word scores high!
