Sorry, there's no official way to completely turn off friend suggestions. But you can limit them by adjusting your Facebook privacy settings and making your profile less searchable.
If you don't like the friend suggestions, just ignore them! It's what I do, and life's a bit simpler.
You can't fully disable friend suggestions on Facebook, but you can hide them. Go to the 'People You May Know' section, click the three dots on a suggestion, and choose 'Remove'.
