As a PUBG player, I noticed disabling the GeForce Experience overlay in the settings menu boosted performance.

Simply press Alt+Z to bring up the GeForce overlay, then go to settings and turn off the overlay.

You can also just disable the notifications in the GeForce Experience settings if you don't want to turn it off completely.
