To disable the sonic effect in War Thunder, go to the settings menu, click on 'Sound', and uncheck the 'Sonic Boom' option. Enjoy the silence!

From my experience, you can quickly disable the sonic effect through the sound settings. Just uncheck 'Sonic Boom' and you're good to go!
