How to Disable Steam Compatibility Mode
DescribingHail路7 months agoEasy peasy! Right-click on your Steam shortcut or .exe file, select 'Properties,' then hit the 'Compatibility' tab. Make sure to uncheck any boxes that say something like 'Run this program in compatibility mode for.' Click 'OK,' and you're all set to game on without that pesky compatibility mode!

Just delete the compatibility settings from the registry. WARNING: Messing with the registry can be risky, so I only recommend this for those who know what they're doing. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers and find anything with Steam in the path. Delete it, and voila!
Trust me, turning off compatibility mode made my games run smoother. Just follow the first advice, and you should be good. No need for extreme measures unless you're confident in your computer skills.
Honestly, I just keep it on. Never noticed a difference.
