Easy peasy! Just open your Steam client and click on 'Steam' in the upper left corner, then go to 'Settings'. Hit 'Interface' and look for a setting saying something like 'Notify me about additions or changes to my games, new releases, and upcoming releases'. Uncheck that bad boy, and voila, no more annoying popups cluttering your screen while you're trying to game or browse.

Just turn off notifications in Steam settings. It's not rocket science, folks.

I turned off the notifications, but honestly, missed out on some cool game updates and release announcements. So maybe think twice before you decide to live in blissful ignorance.
