First, unhook all the cables and remove the hard drive. Then, use a flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry tool to pop off the faceplate. Next, there are hidden latches inside the case—use a tool to press these down and gently pull the casing apart. Finally, use a Torx screwdriver to remove the screws inside to access the motherboard and other components. Just be careful, because opening it might void your warranty!

Just saying, maybe leave it to the professionals if you’re not experienced. You could end up with a fancy paperweight.

Alright, here’s the quick and dirty: Remove the hard drive and faceplate. Use a flat tool to pop the latches, then unscrew the internal screws with a Torx screwdriver. Try not to lose any screws, they love to play hide and seek!

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
