On Facebook, go to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Apps & Websites. Find Instagram and remove it. Voila, they're disconnected!
It's super easy! Go to your Instagram profile, tap the three lines in the corner, hit Settings, then Account, and finally Linked Accounts. Just select Facebook and tap Unlink. Boom, done!
