To disengage in Total War: Three Kingdoms, use the retreat command by selecting your units and clicking the retreat button or using the default hotkey (usually 'U'). Timing is key—make sure you aren’t surrounded!

You can also try to pull back units manually by moving them away from the enemy, but remember, cavalry units have a better chance of disengaging without taking heavy losses.

Honestly, sometimes the best way to disengage is to never engage in a bad fight to begin with. Scouts and careful planning for the win!

From my experience, splitting your forces and using terrain to your advantage helps. Hide in forests or behind hills to break enemy lines!
