Actually, it's not possible to DM strangers directly in Warframe. It's a security feature. Stick to public chats or squad up!
You can't directly DM random people in Warframe unless you've interacted with them before. Try using recruiting chat or regional chat to start a conversation first!
From personal experience, get active in the regional or recruiting chats and then add folks you wanna talk to as friends. Only then can you DM them!
