To enjoy co-op in Sonic Mania, have two controllers ready and start the game. Player 1 controls Sonic while Player 2 takes on the role of Tails. Simply press 'Start' on the second controller during gameplay to join in the fun!

Just plug in a second controller on the same system. The second player automatically controls Tails!
