You can do a grab attack by pressing the grab button (usually Z on the GameCube controller or L/R on Joy-Cons) and then pressing the attack button while holding your opponent.

For grab attacks, you gotta grab your opponent first with L/R or Z, then smash that A button to attack them while holding!

In my experience, it’s best to grab with the shoulder buttons then quickly press A to dish out the pain.
