To do a Mercy in Mortal Kombat 1, you need to win the second round of a match, then during the 'Finish Him/Her' screen, stand at mid-range and press Down three times followed by the Run button. Your opponent will recover some health, letting you finish them again—'cause why not show a little kindness before the fatality?
