To perform a mercy in Mortal Kombat, you need to be in the final round of the match during the 'Finish Him/Her' sequence. Stand at mid-range and hold the Left Trigger (L2 on PlayStation, LT on Xbox) and quickly press down three times. Then, release the Left Trigger. Your opponent will regain a small amount of health, giving them one last chance!
