Open the menu, click 'Navigation,' select your mission, and then click the little circle in the top left corner until it says 'Solo.' Enjoy saving the world by yourself!

Trust me, as a lone warrior, just head to the Navigation screen, pick your mission, and change the matchmaking setting in the top-left corner to 'Solo.' It's that simple!
