First-hand experience: I had to manually update my game once. Go to 'My games & apps,' find PUBG, press the 'Menu' button, and select 'Manage game & add-ons.' The new map should be in the updates section.
Super simple! Just make sure your game is up to date. New maps usually get included in updates, so you should automatically get them when the game updates.
Go to your Xbox home screen, select PUBG, and check for updates. It should include the new map if it's released.
