I got Steam running on my Chromebook by switching it to developer mode and installing Linux. After that, downloading Steam was a breeze. Sure, it's a bit of a process, but totally worth it for the access to my Steam library on the go!

First up, you gotta check if your Chromebook actually supports Linux apps because that's your golden ticket. If it does, you’ll enable Linux (Beta) in your Chromebook settings, download the Steam installation package for Linux from the Steam website, and then run it through the Linux terminal.
