First off, make sure your Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet. Then, head to the Home Screen and hover over the Animal Crossing icon. Press the '+' button on your controller, and a menu will pop up. Go to 'Software Update' and select 'Via the Internet.' Your game should start updating to the latest 2.0 version as long as it's released and available. Kick back and dream about the new features until the download finishes!

Honestly, just keep your Switch connected and it'll sort itself out. I never manually update anything.

Just turn on your Switch, and if it's online, the update should prompt automatically when you try to play Animal Crossing. If not, do the manual check with the '+' button method. Works every time!

The update not popping up? Make sure your game is actually closed. Sometimes the Switch keeps it running in the background. Close it completely, then try updating again!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
