First off, you're gonna want to make sure you've got a USB drive with at least 8GB of space – that's crucial. Get yourself the Windows 10 ISO file from Microsoft's official site. Next, you'll need to create a bootable USB drive; Rufus is a handy tool for that. Once you've prepped your USB stick, plug it into your Steam Deck, boot it up, and press the Volume Down button when you see the Steam logo to enter the Boot Manager. Choose your USB stick, and voila, follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10. Be ready for some driver setups after installation to get everything running smoothly.

Just download Windows 10 onto a USB and plug it in. Simple but consider if you really need to first.

Honestly, I tried it, not worth the hassle. SteamOS is optimized for the Deck, and switching to Windows kinda defeats the purpose of the seamless gaming experience Valve designed. Stick with SteamOS for the best experience.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
