Watch some tutorials on YouTube! They helped me a lot when I started drawing Tanjiro and Nezuko. Just keep practicing!
Honestly, practice makes perfect. Start with the character's face since it's usually the most distinctive feature, then move on to the rest.
Tracing isn't cheating! Find some good references, trace them a bit, then try freehand. You'll get better with time!
