Just press the enter key near a ship to hop in and start sailing. Steering is easy, use your usual movement keys. Ships don't need gas, so sail as far as you like!
Found a ship once, thought it'd be cool to explore the coast. Ended up stuck because I didn't realize you need to approach the wheel directly to 'drive' it. Just walk up to the steering wheel and press your action button. After that, it鈥檚 smooth sailing!
Eh, why bother with a ship? Just use a cheat code and fly across the map. Much faster.
