Easy peasy! Just press and hold the item in your hotbar, then drag it to the left side of the screen until you see a trash can icon. Release it, and voila, you just dropped the stack!
Dragging the stack out of your inventory and into the game world should do the trick. Just click and drag!
I find the best way is to click on the item stack and drag it to the left side of your screen until you see a trash can icon. Release it and watch the magic happen!
