Dropping items in Terraria on PS4 is pretty straightforward! Just select the item in your inventory you want to drop, and press Square. Make sure you're not too attached to it though; once it's out of your inventory, it's free for anyone (or anything) to grab!
Open your inventory, highlight the item you wanna get rid of, and press the Square button. Boom, it's gone. Just don't accidentally drop your favorite sword near a lava pit. Not speaking from experience or anything.
