How to dual boot Windows on a Steam Deck
JokingTunic路7 months agoFirst up, keep in mind that dual-booting your Steam Deck with Windows is doable but a bit techy. You'll need a fast microSD card or an external SSD because you don't wanna mess with the Deck's built-in storage. Download the Windows ISO from Microsoft, put it on a bootable USB drive, and use the Steam Deck's BIOS to select the USB as the boot device. Follow the standard Windows installation steps, but choose your external drive for installation. Remember, Valve doesn't officially support Windows on Steam Deck, so driver compatibility could be an adventure.

Just get a separate PC for Windows, honestly. Dual booting sounds cool but it's a headache.
Done it. Yes, running Windows on a Steam Deck feels like unlocking a secret level, but expect to spend time troubleshooting. If you're not into tinkering, might not be worth the hassle. SteamOS is optimized for the Deck for a reason.
