The best way to beat The Destroyer is by preparing a high platform in the sky, so you avoid most of its attacks. Equip yourself with weapons that can hit multiple segments at once like the Daedalus Stormbow with Holy Arrows. Buff potions like Ironskin and Regeneration will also give you an edge. Don't forget to summon any minions you have to increase your damage output!
Oh man, just get yourself a bunch of Beenades. Those little bees do wonders on The Destroyer's many segments. Plus, it's hilarious to watch.
Just use the Nimbus Rod. Place the clouds right above where The Destroyer can't reach you, and watch it melt away. Easiest boss fight ever if you ask me.
