From my experience, you need to hunt down other Hollow or weaker players in Type Soul and use your devour ability on them. It’s a bit savage but super satisfying.
Eating as a Hollow in Type Soul involves using your devour skill on weaker foes. Find other players or NPCs and show them who’s boss!
Press the devour button while you’re Hollow and munch away. Easy peasy.
