Make sure you and your parent/guardian have allowed chatting in both your Xbox and Roblox settings, especially if you're a minor. Xbox settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety > View Details & Customize > Communication & Multiplayer. Then in Roblox settings, toggle your chat preferences.

To enable chat on Roblox for Xbox, you gotta be 13+ and have both your Xbox and Roblox privacy settings adjusted. Go to Xbox settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Live privacy > View Details & Customize > Communication & Multiplayer. Set 'You can communicate outside of Xbox' to 'Everybody'. In Roblox, sign in, then navigate to Settings > Privacy, and set 'Who can chat with me?' to 'Everyone'.
