How to Enable Controller on Steam
DepetallingMummy路7 months agoTo get your controller working on Steam, first plug in your controller to your PC. Then launch Steam and click on 'Big Picture Mode' at the top right (it looks like a square with two arrows). Once in Big Picture Mode, go to 'Settings' > 'Controller Settings' and you'll see options to configure your controller, including PS4, Xbox, and generic controllers. Check the box for the type of controller you're using, follow any additional setup instructions, and boom, you're ready to game!

Just plug in and play, dude. Steam pretty much recognizes most controllers automatically. If it doesn't, check the 'Controller Settings' under 'Big Picture Mode' and make sure your controller type is selected. Easy peasy.
I've been gaming on Steam for years and honestly, using a controller is sometimes hit or miss depending on the game. Not all games support controllers well, so even if you enable it in Steam, the game might not play nice. Always check the game's Steam page or forums for controller compatibility.
