Just plug your headset into the controller and the PS4 should recognize it automatically. If it doesn't, head to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices to check.

Go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices and select 'Input Device.' Make sure your microphone is plugged in and choose it from the list. Easy peasy!

I've had this issue before. Check that your headset is fully plugged into the DualShock controller, then navigate to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices. From there, select your mic and adjust levels as needed. Worked for me!
