Gonna add my 2 cents here - you can also reboot your Steam Deck and choose the Desktop mode option when it's starting up. Works like a charm if you're already turning it off and on anyway.

Honestly, just stick to gaming mode. Desktop mode's neat but the Steam Deck shines as a gaming device first and foremost.

Super easy! Just press and hold the Steam button on your device to open the Quick Access Menu, then select 'Switch to Desktop' from the options. Boom! Desktop mode engaged.

Pro tip: After switching to Desktop mode, use a mouse and keyboard for the full PC experience. Connect them via USB or Bluetooth, and you're set!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
