Look, it's easy: open 'Kustomize,' pick your character, go to 'Gear,' and add the augments. Done.
Equip augments by entering the 'Kustomize' section, selecting your character, and then choosing the gear piece you want to augment. Finally, add the augment in the available slot.
In case you're lost, just hit the 'Kustomize' option from the main menu, pick your fighter, pick their gear, and add the augment. Simple!
From personal experience, the 'Kustomize' menu is your best friend. Select your fighter, head to their gear, and augment away!
