I've done it before! Go to your group, click on 'Members,' and start removing everyone. When it’s just you, leave the group—bye-bye group.
TBH, If you’re an admin, removing all members and then yourself is the quickest way to erase a group. Done and dusted.
If you want to delete a group, just go to 'Members' and start removing everyone manually. Once you're the only member left, delete yourself and poof, the group is gone!
