Go to Settings > System Settings > Format Utility. Select Full Format to completely erase everything. It will take a while, but it's the safest way to wipe the data.

First, deactivate your PSN account by going to Account Management > System Activation > PS3. Then, go to Settings > System Settings > Restore PS3 System. This will reset everything.

Just format the hard drive through the System Settings menu. Simple, quick, and gets the job done.

I’ve sold a couple of PS3s – the best way is to use the Full Format option under System Settings. I never had any issues this way!

Make sure you delete any personal info! A quick format is fast but a full format is much safer.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company. The logos and other identifying marks attached are trademarks of and owned by each represented company and/or its affiliates. Please visit each company's website for additional terms and conditions.
