Super easy fix! Just press F11. If that doesn't do the trick, take a swing at Alt+Enter. Both shortcuts are like magic spells to toggle full screen on and off in the realm of Steam.

Honestly, just hit Alt+F4 if all else fails and you're desperate to see the light of your desktop again. Works like a charm, but it's the equivalent of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut鈥攅ffective but dramatic.

Whenever Steam decides to hold my screen hostage in full screen, I press Shift+Tab to open the Steam Overlay, then close it again. More often than not, this little trick coaxes Steam back into windowed mode without closing the game or the client.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
