Not really an 'exit' button guys, but switching quests works. Just dive into something else!
Exiting a quest in Hogwarts Legacy isn't as straightforward as hitting a 'quit mission' button, but you can switch your focus to another quest via the quest menu. Simply open up your quest journal, select another quest as your active one, and voila, you've effectively 'exited' the quest you're trying to get away from. Don't worry; you can always come back to it later!
In my experience, just swapping to another quest is the way to go. I did this a bunch when I needed a break from the tougher ones. Really makes it easy to keep the game fresh and avoid getting stuck.
