Honestly, just use the pre-installed file manager. Navigate to your file, right-click, and you should see an option to extract if it's a common format. No need to overcomplicate things with extra software.

Extracting files on the Steam Deck is pretty straightforward, thanks to its PC-like capabilities. You'll want to navigate to Desktop Mode first. Once there, you can use the Discover Software Center to download an archive manager, like Ark or File Roller. Open your archive manager, find the file you want to extract, and you're good to go! It's like using a mini-computer, so if you've ever unzipped files on a PC, it's a similar process.

Not to be that guy, but why are you extracting files on a gaming device? Just enjoy the games, man. If you really must, though, Desktop Mode is your friend. Then treat it like a Linux PC because, well, it is.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
