How to Farm Mimics in Terraria
First off, mimics love dark, enclosed spaces. So, you want to set up shop in the Underground or Cavern layers. Build a long, straight hallway with platforms to walk on and make sure it's well-lit so you can see those mimics coming. Place chests or items that mimics like to spawn near to lure them in. Then, just wait and be ready to fight when they show up. An easy way to farm them without too much risk is using Dart Traps or Lava to deal with them once they spawn.

Honestly, just find a natural open area in the Underground and run back and forth. Mimics tend to spawn off-screen, so if you keep moving, you'll bump into them eventually. No need for fancy traps or setups.
Summon the mimics directly if you're tired of waiting. You can craft a Key of Light or Key of Night by placing 15 Souls of Light or Night respectively into an empty chest. This spawns a Light or Dark mimic, and you can farm them to your heart's content. Just be ready; these mimics are tough.
Why farm mimics the hard way? Just get some Battle Potions and Water Candles to increase spawn rates, and roam the underground. They'll show up sooner or later.
