Just go to https://www.facebook.com/messages to access them directly. Simple as that!
On the Messenger app, tap your profile pic at the top left, click on 'Archived Chats,' and you'll see all your hidden treasures.
From my experience, all you gotta do is go to Messenger, tap the profile icon, and choose 'Archived Chats.' Easy peasy!
